The Friends Garden for Peace and Understanding (FGPU) grew out of an empty lot and a vision shared by Danyell Brent, a resident of Sarah Allen Community Homes. Today he serves as FRP’s Garden Coordinator, and he often says, “If I can understand you, I can make peace with you.” Mr. Brent holds a deep belief in the healing power of food and gardening. He channels that passion into sharing fresh produce with his neighbors and bringing the community together for garden activities and events, all in the service of peace, health, and a strong, supportive social fabric.
